Terms of Service

Last updated 3 October 2026

These terms govern use of QuietBookCut (the "Service"), operated by ProxiBlue (ABN 30 550 620 048, "we", "us"). By creating an account, uploading a file, or otherwise using the Service, you accept these terms. If you don't agree to them, don't use the Service.

1. What the Service does

QuietBookCut converts a hand-drawn sewing/appliqué pattern PDF into a vector SVG file suitable for import into cutting software (such as Sure Cuts a Lot or Cricut Design Space). Conversion uses automated image tracing and a vision model to read handwritten color notes — it is not manually checked by a person before being handed back to you.

2. Your content and rights

You must own, or have the right to use and convert, every file you upload. The Service is for converting a pattern you already have the right to use for your own personal or commercial crafting — it is not a tool for redistributing, reselling, or sharing someone else's copyrighted pattern design. Some sample patterns circulated in the sewing/crafting community carry an explicit copyright notice (e.g. "©LindyJ Design") — you are responsible for respecting that, not us.

You keep ownership of whatever you upload and whatever is generated from it. We store your uploaded files and the files generated from them so you can re-download your own work later; we don't claim any rights over your pattern designs beyond what's needed to run the Service and provide support. At most we aim to retain past jobs for 6 months — download anything you want to keep long-term rather than relying on it staying in your account indefinitely.

3. Accounts, free usage, and credits

Some use of the Service is free (a limited number of conversions and piece downloads per month); beyond that, downloading a pattern piece may require a credit, purchased in packs through our payment processor. Credits, once spent to unlock a piece, unlock that piece permanently for your account — you can re-download it later without paying again, for as long as your account and that job's data exist. Refunds are handled as described below.

Refunds Refund requests are considered case by case — contact us and we'll take a look. For a piece that came out clearly broken, a download credit refund back to your account balance is usually the fastest and easiest resolution: it's ready to use again immediately, with no bank processing wait. A refund to your original payment method remains available and is considered on the same case-by-case basis, including wherever required by law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law (or any other applicable law) that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified. It's always fastest to send your first support message with everything we'd need: the job and piece(s) affected, and the reason you believe it qualifies for a refund. That saves a round trip of us having to ask.

Email support

The free SVG cut-file resize tool is a separate, no-account-required service and is provided as-is — we accept no responsibility for time, materials, or any other resources lost due to an incorrect resize. You need to confirm a resized file imports and cuts at the correct size before relying on it; if something looks wrong, contact support rather than assuming the result is correct.

4. Accuracy — check before you cut

Automated tracing and handwriting recognition are not perfect. Piece shapes, sizes, and color assignments can occasionally come out wrong, especially on unclear handwriting, faint lines, or unusual layouts. Always visually check a converted pattern against the original PDF before cutting fabric, vinyl, or any other material. We provide a correction tool for exactly this reason — use it before you cut.

5. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is," with no warranty of accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Service — including, without limitation, lost revenue or profit, wasted materials, damaged equipment (cutting machines, blades, mats, or otherwise), or any other direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss — however it arises, even if a converted file was inaccurate or a bug in the Service caused it. Your use of the Service is at your own risk, and by using it you accept this limitation. Where a jurisdiction doesn't allow some of this limitation, our liability is limited to the fullest extent that jurisdiction does allow, and in any case to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

6. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service running reliably but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may suspend, change, or discontinue any part of the Service, including during maintenance or in response to abuse, without it creating any liability to you beyond a pro-rata download credit refund of your unused credit balance where reasonable.

7. Account termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that abuses the Service (e.g. uploads unlawful content, attempts to circumvent usage limits, or abuses the free tier) or that we reasonably believe is being used in violation of these terms.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
